Prep soccer: Stevi boys earn first win over Billings Central

 

BOZEMAN – Joseph Fectau scored two goals and assisted on another as the Stevensville boys’ soccer team scored its first-ever win over Billings Central in a nonconference matchup on Saturday.

Nicholas Jensen got the Jackets on the board in the second minute on an assist from Sam Giese. Giese got the Jackets out of the gates quickly in the second half, scoring in the 41st minute. Fectau then got his first goal in the 65th minute and added an insurance tally in the 76th.

J.J. O’Bannon made four stops to earn the win in net.

Stevensville, 2-2, plays Thursday at Frenchtown.

At Bigfork, Kyle Thompson scored a pair of first-half goals to lead the Vikings to the Northern A win.

Thompson netted a feed from Austin Gordon to open the scoring in the 12th minute and scored on a penalty kick in the 32nd.

Dillon Hilling made one save for Bigfork (2-0-0, 3-0-0).

Johnny Davidson scored late in the second half for the Loggers.

At Frenchtown, Michael Rebarchik and Tristan Baker each scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as the Broncs beat their Southern A rivals.

Rebarchik, a senior forward, scored back-to-back goals in the first half to put Frenchtown ahead 3-0.

An own goal put the Broncs up 4-0 before the co-op of Loyola Sacred Heart and Valley Christian tallied just before the break.

Baker scored the first goal in the second half and started the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute.

Eli Carmona added a goal and three assists for Corvallis, which also received goals from Nolan Grenfell, D.J. Pekoc and Josh Benema.

Corvallis, 3-1, hosts Hamilton on Thursday.

At Whitefish, Sean Janni’s two goals and one assist helped lead Northern A Whitefish to a one-sided victory over Southern A Hamilton.

Sam Donaldson scored twice, Nathan Boone had three assists and Jon Dittman and Curran Edland also found the back of the net for the Bulldogs.

Thomas Clark made four saves to preserve the shutout for Whitefish.
