ANACONDA – The Anaconda volleyball team got the early upper hand in the race for a Southwestern A regular-season title Tuesday.
The Copperheads received a big evening from Kaylea Jorgensen and powered their way to a 25-23, 25-15, 25-21 league sweep of Stevensville.
Jorgensen set all but one of Anaconda’s 27 assists and tied Karli King for the team lead in aces with two apiece.
Brooke Chapman floored 11 of Anaconda’s 30 kills as the Copperheads moved to 1-0 in league and overall. Mia Estes stuffed four blocks for Anaconda.
MacKenzie Zimmerman had three aces and a pair of blocks for the Yellowjackets (0-1, 0-1), who also received 10 kills from Kyla Paulson.

Felicia Earhart and Sami Kinzie each set six assists for Plains (0-1).

Bohlken collected nine kills and 14 digs as the Eagles began the season 1-0, 1-0.
Brielynna Lange had six blocks and five aces for Valley Christian, Taylor Kelly set 20 assists and Kaylee Velin contributed nine kills.
Brianna Massey led Darby with 16 kills, seven blocks and nine digs.
