Kalispell Glacier found its way to the top of the team and individual leaderboards after Wednesday’s first of two days of the Missoula Invitational golf tournament at Larchmont Golf Course.
A day after securing the top spot at the Great Falls Invitational, the Wolfpack boys posted a combined score of 285 to take a comfortable lead over second-place Great Falls CMR, which shot a 311. Kalispell Flathead sits third after a round of 315, followed by Missoula Sentinel at 239 and Missoula Hellgate at 333.
Glacier teammates Ryan Porch and Logan Iverson fired identical rounds of 69 to share the individual lead. They’re followed by Wolfpack teammate Cody Sherrill in third at 71, Easton Enott of CMR at 74 and three golfers tied for fifth after shooting a 75.
The Glacier girls – led by freshman Teigan Avery – combined to shoot 339, 31 strokes better than runner-up Great Falls High. Hellgate (398), Flathead (401) and Whitefish (413) round out the top five.
Avery’s round of 81 has her in a tie for first with Katie Wills of Hellgate.
Kailey Prosser of Great Falls High and Shea Stevens of Glacier each shot an 83 to tie for third, while Hannah Davis of Glacier and Abigail Davidson from Great Falls are deadlocked in fifth after both shot rounds of 88.
Play continues Thursday morning with the second and final round at Canyon River Golf Club.
