Three area players were named to the Montana/Alberta Legion Baseball Class AA all-state team recently.
The trio includes Nathan Jewett and Riley King of the Missoula Mavericks and Matt McLean of the Kalispell Lakers. Jewett finished with a 7-3 pitching record and a 2.89 earned run average. King led the Mavericks at the plate with a .415 average, five home runs and 65 RBIs.
Joining Jewett, King and McLean on the all-state list were Nick Funyak and Colter Endy of the Billings Scarlets, TJ Jacobs and Chance Ackerman of the Billings Royals, Matt Hape of the Bozeman Bucks, Tanner Watson of the Great Falls Chargers and Konner Lutz of the Medicine Hat Monarchs.
The Mavs landed three players on the Western AA all-league team, including Jewett, King and catcher Slade Heggen. McLean and teammate Dillon Eaves made the list as Kalispell pitchers.
