Selective Team Profiles (see stat credits below):

18U Montana Avalance featured a trio of Mission Valley players: Wenatchee Valley College bound Kinley Pope (Charlo), Heidi Rausch (Polson) and Tina Marquardt (Polson).  Their cumulative State ASA performance: Pope  (6-13, 2B, 2 RBI, .461 Avg), Marquardt (6-11, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, .545 Avg), Rausch (2B, RBI - was hitting .434 Avg prior to state tourney).

16U Billings Bulldogs feature a single local Mission Valley player in Ashleigh Lynch (Ronan).  Lynch was batting 1.000 Avg the first pair of games.  Pitchers for teams deeper into the bracket were able to cool down this “Rocket” just a tad at (Lynch cumulative State ASA totals = 5R, 6-15, 2B, RBI, 3 SB, .400 Avg), but her on-base-percentage (OBP) was at least .533 OBP if not higher.

16U Polson Purple Rain and 16U Frenchtown Fury are comprised of players who are anticipated to make up the bulk of the 2013 MHSA Spring season NWA teams.

16U Kalispell Emeralds feature Columbia Falls WildKats Ashley Trueblood, Kathrin Jetty, Carlee Brown (periodically Winter Kemppainen) intermingled with roster representation from both Kalispell AA schools, the Glacier Lady Wolfpack and Flathead Bravettes.

16U Missoula Lady Osprey (Gray) feature a pair of Vercruyssens who hail from Stevensville along with Class B-C Mission (MAC) Bulldogs Alyssa Doty and Connor Smith as well as representation from other schools.

14U Kalispell Emeralds won a trio of ASA tournaments coming into the State ASA tournament.  They feature Whitefish Lady Bulldog Malia Morris along with roster representation from current along with soon-to-be enrollees at Kalispell Glacier as well as Kalispell Flathead.  Among them will be up-and-comer multi-sport athlete Lizzie Sherwood, who can be anticipated to make some noise in whichever sport she engages in, much  to the chagrin of those who will be attempting to match up against her.

14U Polson Lakers feature among their roster a smattering of State ASA championship credentials including 2011 State ASA champions Lydia Dupuis as well as Sarah Rausch along with 2009 10U State ASA Champions Natalie Slonaker, Marlee Congdon, Ashley Benson, Haley Fyant, Julia Sanderson, Hannah Potter (perhaps another unintentionally escaping recollection).

Blake Hempstead, Sports Editor for the Anaconda

Leader, conferred with the ASA commissioners and  compiled a summation of the top finishers in each of the five divisional strata, which was then submitted to the media.  For local daily renditions of that newspaper coverage, see following article(s):

“Lady Osprey have strong showing at State ASA tourney,” Missoulian (Mon. 8 July 2012) 22:01 hrs.  “Butte Team Claims State Title,” Montana Standard (Tue. 10 July 2012) 12:00 am.
