"We really had to work for it," Columbia Falls coach Greg Trenerry said. "(Bigfork) stepped up really big. (Bigfork goalie Danielle Morris' had a lot of really good saves." Columbia Falls goalie Niesha Thompson made five saves for the shutout. Morris had 13 for the Valkyries. Trenerry credited the Wildkats, 3-2 overall, 1-1 in conference, with playing hard throughout. "This is the first time they played a whole 80 minutes," he said. "We're doing a lot of good things. If they can keep going and keep working hard, I think they'll do well." Columbia Falls is off until Sept. 24 when it travels to Whitefish. Bigfork hosts conference-foe Libby on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.. Bigfork, 2-1 conference and 2-2-2 overall, took a 2-0 lead on back-to-back goals one minute apart by McCallum and Luke Scrase. Lael Richmond, with McCallum assisting, scored at 46 minutes. "Total team effort," Bigfork coach Keith Koslosky said. "They (Vikings' described how they wanted to play tonight's game and they did it." Bigfork outshot Columbia Falls 22-3. "We've been searching for some sort of combination and they connected tonight," Koslosky said. "They controlled the tempo, they controlled possession."
