The Wildkats, Libby and Polson all started the day with identical 3-3 league records with two league contests to play. But Columbia Falls and Polson, both 15-5 overall, each gained a game on Libby with wins.
The Wildkats led 2-0 on a two-run single by Niki Birky in the third before Madison Sandefer hit an inside-the-park grand slam in the fifth to break it open.
Devon Gallagher was 2 for 3 as the Wildkats managed just six hits off Logger hurler Hannah England.
Ashley Trueblood went the distance in the circle for Columbia Falls and allowed six hits.
Lexie Hageness doubled for Libby, which slipped to 12-8 overall.

At Polson, Shalaina Duford tossed a two-hitter and the Pirates collected 16 hits in earning the Northwestern A win in 4 1-2 innings due to the 10-run margin rule.
Duford went 3 for 6 with a double and two RBIs and Riley Kenney added three singles and three driven in as Polson moved to 4-3, 15-5. The Pirates also received two hits apiece from Jaylin Kenney and Jessica Bagnell.

Ewing got the start in the circle and was tagged for two unearned runs in 5 1-3 innings. She allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six. At the plate, Ewing paced Corvallis’ eight-hit attack by going 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs.
Whitney Jessop singled three times and drove in one for the Blue Devils and Miquela Kriskovich plated a pair.
