Polson 30, Whitefish 0
At Polson on Senior Night, the visiting Lady Bulldogs caught some of the reverberations still eminating from the Lady Pirate offensive machinery that averaged double figure hit assaults at the recently completed Butte softball Invitational. Senior infielder Riley Kenney was on base all six of her trips to the batters box and plated on a quartet of those occasions. Fellow senior infielder Ashley Johnson finished 3-5, senior Makaliah Wilson notched a pair of hits as well as trio of other players finished with a pair of hits apiece. A highlight that almost came to pass took place in the 2nd inning when Riley Kenney lifted a towering shot down the left field foul line with the bases loaded. Unfortunately for her, but fortunate for the visiting Lady Bulldogs, the wind drifted the ball foul and spared the visitors from having to endure a further four run deficit. Kenney ended up having to settle for a walk. Whitefish has steadily improved from last year in that they surrendered over a dozen less runs when compared to last season. Baylee Tveidt was stranded twice at second base, while number six batter Hanna Lewis was able to maneuver herself over to third before she was left high and dry.

Unofficial game rendition by John Heglie in consultation with Polson statistician Julie Duford. Some details may vary from official summary. For example, there were a couple of “bad hop”singles that glanced off the gloves of some visiting infielders. Some might have scored them as errors, but from the perspective of this assessment, the velocity of the hit and the irregular change in trajectory would have made them difficult to even get a glove partially on them, let alone field. Consequently, these were scored as hits in this game rendition.
