FRENCHTOWN – The Frenchtown softball team remained perfect on the season, but not without a tussle.
The Southwestern A Broncs edged Belgrade 3-2 in nine innings Saturday in their second and final game of the day at the Frenchtown Invitational tournament.
Morgan Ray moved to 2-0 in the circle for Frenchtown (12-0). She pitched all nine innings, allowing six hits and three walks. She struck out 13.
After the Panthers tallied a run in the top of the ninth, the Broncs rallied for two in the bottom of the frame. Abby Indreland hit a two-out shot to left that tied it before an outfield fielding error on the play plated Keller Leishman from first with the winning run.
Indreland was 2 for 4 and Sarah Lester doubled for Frenchtown.
Losing pitcher Kristina West was 2 for 4 with a double for Belgrade.
