Four Dillon Beavers earn all-tourney selections

Dillon senior Wes Knox was named the Most Valuable Player on the State A Tournament Team compiled by The Montana Standard following the State A basketball tournament in Butte.

Players named to the team were voted in by media covering the tournament Saturday night.

Knox was joined as a first-team selection by teammates Ben Folsom and J.T. Linder. The Beavers won the title 54-39 over Columbia Falls.

Other first-team members were Columbia Falls center Austin Barth and Laurel point guard Bobby Anderson.

Second-team vote getters were Daniel Meyer of Billings Central, Josiah Davis of Browning, Ryan Burke of Billings, Josh Schultz of Stevensville, Marcus Payne of Livingston and Jesse Sims of Stevensville.

Players that earned honorable mention on the team included Dillon’s Chevy Reed, Browning’s Dee Jay Lazy Boy, Columbia Falls’ Parker Johnson and Laurel’s Shawn Nardella.

Malta’s Denham claims State B MVP

Malta guard Kendall Denham averaged 17.7 points per game as he led his team to the State B championship as the media-selected MVP for State B.

He was joined on the first team by Manhattan’s Quinn McQueary, Malta’s Zach Handley and Florence’s Aaron Ward.

Whitehall’s Casey McLean was named to the second team.

Fairview’s Hurley the top State C player

Fairview sharpshooter Tim Hurley was named the MVP of the State C All-Tournament Team selected by the media following the tournament in Billings.

Hurley led the Warriors to the state title over Manhattan Saturday night.

Twin Bridges players Cody Pierson, Tyler Lott and Cole Miotke were all selected for the All-Tournament Team.

Other All-Tournament selections included Brock Shrive of Fairview, Ty Emerson of St. Labre, Jace Anderson of Saco, Jeff Robinson of St. Labre, Kyle Wilson of Melstone and Justin Bieber of Fairview.
