Harris, Mee in quarterfinals

Top seeds Matt Harris of Whitefish and Jackie Mee of Libby have advanced to quarterfinal play at the Western A divisional tennis tournament.

Harris and Mee both had first-round byes, then cruised to easy wins in the second round of singles play on Thursday.

Harris defeated Sean Barrett of Bigfork, 6-2, 6-0, while Mee stopped Sara Keeble of Polson, 6-1, 6-2.

In today's quarterfinals, Mee will face Gabi Stenger of Columbia Falls and Harris will tangle with Miroslav Zvyagelskiy, also of Columbia Falls.

Doubles play also begins today.

The tournament is being held at the courts at Flathead Valley Community College and the Glacier Tennis Club. The tournament winds up Saturday.
