LOUIS, Mo. – Four Northwest Ranger sophomore basketball players have been invited to Mullen's JUCO Showcase, one of the south's premier camps that gives junior college players an opportunity to play in front of major college scouts. The JC showcase (Friday, July 13th) only will be played at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. The High School Tournament and JC Top 100 will remain at Lindenwood University. "This is a great opportunity for our guys to get recognized on the next level," head coach Bubba Skelton said. "There's annually 200-300 coaches in attendance in one of the premier junior college showcases in the United States. I'm proud that our guys are getting good exposure by going to this." Rising sophomores DeMarcus McVay, Kenyatta Jones, Jordan Hulsey and Tevin Moore have all been invited to play from Northwest and combined for 46 percent of the Rangers' scoring a year ago. McVay averaged a team-best 12.4 points and 8.0 rebounds-per-game last year in 20 starts, posting five double-doubles and a career-high 32 points against SU-Shreveport in the Region 23 Tournament. He had a career-high 25 points against Arkansas Baptist, finishing the season averaging 8.6 points and shooting 32 percent from beyond the arc. Hulsey played and started in all 24 games, finishing third in the NJCAA in shooting percentage at a 69 percent clip. Hulsey averaged 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds-per-game, scoring a career-high 26 points on 12 of 14 shooting against Northeast. Moore appeared in all 24 games, starting the first nine of the season, and closed the year averaging 5.2 points and 3.3 rebounds-per-game.
