Home » Baseball NewsAustin Overall Inks with Mid-Continent UniversityJuly 6, 2012 By Kevin Maloney of NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGESENATOBIA – Northwest sophomore third baseman Austin Overall of Walls has signed to play for head baseball coach Shawn Yarbrough and Mid-Continent University (Ky.) for his final two seasons. He becomes the 10th Ranger from the Class of 2012 to sign on at a four-year school. Overall will join Jimmy Braswell and former teammate Joseph Blair to make up a roster of three Rangers. Overall played in 81 career games (77 starts) at third base for the Rangers, hitting a combined .278 with 18 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 42 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He finished with 18 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games and also was 6-for-6 in career stolen bases. Last season, Overall played and started in 40 games and hit a career-best .294 with nine doubles and four home runs. He also drove in 23 runs and scored 22 more with a .356 on-base percentage. Mid-Continent University is a member of the TranSouth Athletic Conference and competes in the NAIA.
