With a 3.28 grade point average, the Ranger softball team earned the college’s highest mark while the Ranger women's soccer team had a 3.09 GPA. The team awards come a week after Kyle Blount (baseball) and Casey Gibson (softball) were named NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award recipients. “I am proud of the hard work that our student-athletes are showing on and off the field," athletic director Cameron Blount said. "We want our athletes to know that they are students first and it's good to see we have kids and teams that are working hard to achieve their personal goals in life. We hope that this number will continue to grow each year.” Northwest was accredited by the Mississippi Junior College Accrediting Association in 1928 and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in December 1953. Northwest competes in the MACJC North Division of the NJCAA and is located in Senatobia, Miss.
