Vikings sweep Blackhawks on Senior Night!!

By Nathan Miller of North Wilkes High SchoolNorth Wilkes travel to Miller's Creek to take on West Wilkes on senior night. Lady Blackhawks was fired up on senior night, but the Lady Vikings took the fire out with a come from behind with a 53-51 victory.
North Wilkes took control of the first quarter with a lead 8-7, West out shot the Vikings in second quarter and take a 23-14 in a half-time. First time this season that North was trailing behind. North stormed back with a 21-15 in third quarter to cut the lead down to three. Last quarter, Lady Vikings found it's way back to a close game at the end with a 18-13 in fourth. Lady Vikings center hit a game winning lay-up with less then 12 seconds left. North stolen the ball at half-court but went out of bounds with 2.9 seconds.
Lady Blackhawks had one more shot with a lay-up but it was delined and the Vikings win 53-51 at West.
Varsity boys spoil Blackhawks on senior night with a 53-46 win. North took control of the game and West kept on fighting back. North never looked back in the fourth quarter where Blackhawks ran out of gas.
North Wilkes next game at Alleghany next Tuesday, while North's senior night next Friday against Ashe County.
