Two Houston area runners qualified for the Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego, competing against the top cross country athletes in the country.
Cy Woods Craig Nowak, who won the Texas state track meet, finished 14th overall while Willis' Cali Roper finished 18th overall.
"The weather was beautiful and it was a great event," Roper said. "I'm sad that it went by so fast." Roper will be running for Rice over the next few years.
