Welcome the VYPE’s North Houston Edition for the month of August. This month we break down the Top 10 football and volleyball teams in area and sprinkle in the North Side’s Who’s Who in their respective sport.
The Woodlands’ Lance Miles seems to have distanced himself as the Highlander quarterback entering the season and we tell why he’s the BMOC. Willis’ Quan West will also carry large expectations entering 2011 as the Wildkat’s dual-position athlete.
On the volleyball side, College Park is loaded in 2011 and has a legit shot at a state championship. Setter Michelle Griffith is the quarterback of the Cavs and will be leading an impressive offense with the likes of Katie Mitchell, Alex Thorson and Taylor Erwin.
We also cover the private school in this issue and The Woodlands Christian Academy is led by one of the most explosive athletes in the city. Todd Eaglin accounts for virtually all of the Warriors’ offense at quarterback and also stars at defensive back. While Eaglin holds individual records, Concordia Lutheran’s Katie Reilly holds the titles. The Wichita State-commit has led the Crusaders to back-to-back TAPPS championship in volleyball and one in track.
