Home » Football NewsVYPE Recruit Scoop -- North Houston Athlete Pulls First Offer; More to ComeApril 16, 2012 By Matt Malatesta of VYPE MAGAZINE - North HoustonThe Woodlands' athlete Jayme Taylor has been playing varsity football since his sophomore season under coach Mark Schmid.
The 6-foot-4 athlete has played quarterback, in the slot and as running back and could move to the defensive side of the ball as a senior.
His versatility will make him a hot property this spring recruiting season and a few school have already jumped on Taylor.
"I've been offered by Wake Forest and I think Arizona State is very close to offering. I'm hoping for that," he said. "I'm going to visit both places as soon as I figure out some dates, and I'll be attending several other camps this summer. Colleges are recruiting me as a tight end or H-Back type of player."
Taylor grinded through an elbow injury last football season, helping lead the Highlanders to the fourth round of the playoffs. He had to sit out the basketball season after having minor surgery, but will be back at full strength by the spring.
"I also have Ohio State, Notre Dame, TCU, Stanford and Texas on my radar," he said. "I would really like to go somewhere that excels in both athletics and athletics. Those schools are all have that. Wake Forest is a place I'm highly considering as well."
