JH Track Competes in County

By Northfield Athletics of Northfield High SchoolNorthfield's Junior High track teams competed in the 34th annual Wabash County Meet Wednesday night. The 7th grade girls came in 4th place. Eighth grade girls placed 8th. For the boys, the 7th graders tied Manchester for 6th place, and the Norse 8th grade came in 8th. Jacklyn Peas put in an extremely strong performance gaining first place ribbons in the 200, 100 hurdles, and 200 hurdles. Also gathering firsts for the girls were Liz Howenstine in the 400, Jordan Bratch in long jump, and Taylor Kock in long jump.
Jackson Beery brought home the lone first place for the boys in the 100 meter dash. He also placed 2nd in the 200, 400, and long jump. Also bringing in 2nd place finishes for the Norse were Owen Yeadon in the 110 hurdles, Kyle Reed in 200 hurdles, and Chris Orpurt in discus and shot put.
