JH Wrestlers Compete at Southwood

By Northfield Athletics of Northfield High SchoolThe Northfield Jr. High wrestling team wrestled in the Southwood four-way meet on Thursday. Against Southwood the Norse lost by a score of 39 to 68. Cole Persinger, Zach Shadden, John Ritchie, Michael Fouts and Drake Heitz won by pin. Ritchie also won by injury default, and Shadden won a second match by a score of 6 to 5.
Against Madison-Grant the Norse lost by a score of 27 to 36 Drew Clark, Layne Evans, Logan Carey, and Jake Stephan won by pin. TJ Powers won by decision.
Against Riverview the Norse lost by a score of 37 to 77. Chris Orpurt, Heath Lambert, Jake Stephan, Drake Heitz, and Dayon Waldron won by pin. Macauley Miller won by decision, and Bryce Crum won by major decision.
