Penn wins the Regional at LaPorte

Penn - IHSAA GIrls' Golf Regional Champions for 2011

The Penn HS Girls' Golf team won the LaPorte Regional on Saturday repeating their effort from a year ago with a 309 team score, besting second place Chesterton by 23 strokes. Marian finished in 6th place (396) and SB Adams captured 10th place (410) out a regional field of 12 teams at the LaPorte's Beechwood course. Penn's Kari Bellville tied for medalist honors with a 71. Only the top three teams advance to the State Finals next Friday and Saturday.

Advancing as individuals to the State Finals will be St. Joseph's Anna Wilcoxson who had a 82 regional score along with SB Riley's Jillian Busfield who had an 88.
