Home » Girls' Softball NewsPenn wins Goshen Regional, on to Semi-StateJune 5, 2011 By Greg Humnicky of Northern Indiana ConferenceOne day after winning the weather delayed Sectional on Monday, the Penn Lady Kingsmen defeated Goshen, 1-0 Tuesday night to win the one game 4A Regional and advance to the IHSAA Semi-State on Saturday. Penn under Coach Beth Zachary now stand with an overall record of 22-5. Mishawaka Marian under George Grenert lost the 3A Regional match-up at Columbia City Tuesday night by a score of 8-3. The Lady Knights finish their season with a fine 23-2 record. Marian's two losses came at the hands of Penn in the NIC and Columbia City in the Regional. Penn will play Lake Central (28-5) in the 11:00 am game at the West Lafayette Harrison Semi-State on Saturday, June 4. Huntington North (20-8) will play Carmel (25-2) in the second game. The Semi-State championship game is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Lake Central 7-5 over Penn (22-6 final record) Carmel beat Huntington North, 8-0. Lake Central vs Carmel postponed until Monday, June 6
