Home » Boys' Track and Field NewsIHSAA Boys' Track Sectional won by PennMay 20, 2011 By Greg Humnicky of Northern Indiana ConferenceThursday, May 19 at Penn High School IHSAA Boys' Track & Field Sectional - 5:00 pm Eight of the nine NIC schools will run at Penn along with Bremen, LaVille and Glenn. Elkhart Central will run at the Goshen Sectional, where Central finished 7th out of a field of 11 schools. The top four places in each event will advance to the Kokomo Regional on Thursday, May 26. The top 3 places at the Kokomo Regional will advance to the IHSAA State Finals at Indiana University-Bloomington on Friday, June 3. SB Washington won the Kokomo Regional last year with excellent finishes in the sprints as the Panthers edged host Kokomo by one point, 63 to 62. The Kokomo Regional will feature sectional qualifiers from Penn, Goshen, Kokomo and Plymouth. Eight NIC schools scored points at the Kokomo Regional with 7 NIC schools scoring in the top 15 schools out of a field of 31 schools. Penn wins the Sectional Penn duplicated their NIC win at the Sectional by edging SB Riley for the Sectional title. Team scores for the IHSAA Boys' Track Sectional at Penn. 1. Penn 137 points 2. SB Riley 129.33 3. Mishawaka 111.33 4. St. Joseph's 69.33 5. SB Adams 46 6. Bremen 37.50 7. Glenn 34 8. SB Clay 33 9. Marian 11 10. LaVille 10.50 11. SB Washington 4 The top 4 place finishers in each event advance to the Kokomo Regional next week on Thursday, May 26. Warsaw won the Goshen Sectional where Elkhart Central participated. Elkhart Central scored 75 points, good for 4th place out of a field of 11 schools. The top four place finishers at Goshen also advance to the Kokomo Regional next Thursday, May 26.
