Tuesday, May 10 - NIC Girls' & Boys' Track & Field Meet at Elkhart Central

Last year St. Joseph's won their first NIC boys' title in school history when they scored 109.5 points, beating 2nd place SB Riley by 30 points. 16 points separated 2nd and 7th place as SB Riley secured 2nd with 79 points, Penn 3rd with 75.5, Elkhart Central 4th with 75, SB Washington was 5th with 73.5 , SB Adams was 6th with 66.5 while Mishawaka was 7th with 63 points. SB Clay got 50 points for their 8th place finish while Marian was 9th with 26 points.

IHSAA Boys' Track & Field Sectional - Thursday, May 19 at Penn
Last year the Penn boys' track sectional was held at John Glenn in Walkerton due to track and football field renovations at Penn.  St. Joseph's secured the sectional title out of a field of 11 schools. St. Joseph's scored 100 points to edge SB Riley, who finished 2nd with 95 points. Penn scored 91.5 points to finish 3rd. Eight of 9 NIC schools run in this sectional. Elkhart Central ran in the Goshen sectional and finished 7th out of field of 11 schools in Elkhart County plus Warsaw and Wawasee.

SB Washington, who finished 4th at the Sectional, won the IHSAA Boys' Regional at Kokomo with 63 points. Eight of the 9 NIC schools scored points at the Regional in Kokomo. Seven NIC schools finished in the top 15 schools in points at the Regional, which saw qualifiers from 31 schools.

SB Riley's Elias Micozzi finished 2nd at the IHSAA Sate Finals in the discus event for the best NIC performance. Five NIC schools scored points in the State Boys' Track Meet.

This year's boys' sectional will be held at Penn on Thursday, May 19 with eight of the nine NIC schools competing for the championship.
