SB Adams wins the Sectional

SB Adams - IHSAA Regional Background

NIC Co-Champions (7-1) with Penn

Sectional at Mishawaka:

SB Adams defeated Mishawaka, 45-42

SB Adams defeated SB Washington, 56-47

SB Adams defeated Penn, 93-71 for the Sectional championship

 

SB Adams (21-2) will play Warsaw (13-10) in the 1st game of the Michigan City Regional on saturday, March 9 at 11:00 am ET. The winner will play the winner of the Munster (25-0) vs Merrillville (20-3) game. The Michigan City Regional championship game will be played Saturday night at 8:30 pm ET.

The Regional winner advances to the Northern 4A Semi-State game the foillowing Saturday, March 16 when the Michigan City Regional winner will play the winner of the Marion Regional.

At the Marion Regional, FW Northrup (19-7) will face New Haven (17-5) with Kokomo (22-2) squaring off vs Carmel (21-2) in the second game.

The Northern 4A Semi-State match-up will be played at either Lafayette Jefferson or at Huntington North on Saturday, March 16 as a part of the double-header with another class semi-state game.

SB Adams - State Tournament History

1944 , 1958 , 1967 , 1971 , 1973 , 1974 , 1979 , 1984 , 1998 , 2007 , 2012 , 2013

The only Regional won by Adams was in 1973 when Adams, under Dave Hadaway, who later got to the State Championship game before losing to New Albany, 84-79.

Last year at the Michigan City Regional, Adams upset Lake Central, 76-72 in the first game but then lost the Regional title game to Elkhart Memorial, 73-70.

At this year's Regional at Michigan City, SB Adams is the only returning sectional champ from a year ago.
