Penn finishes as Runner-Up at State Finals

IHSAA Girls' Swimming and Diving State Finals RESULTS

at IUPUI Natatorium - Indianapolis on Friday/Saturday Feb 8-9

1st - Carmel - won 27th straight IHSAA state title with 397 points

2nd - Penn with 189 points

31st - St. Joseph with 11 points

41 schools scored points at the state finals

 

200 Medley Relay

2nd place - Penn 1:44.2

Addisynn Bursch, Annie Spalding, Bethany Galat, Jennifer Priebe

200 Freestyle

15th - Emily Meckstroth of Penn 1:54.59

200 Individual Medley

1st Place - Bethany Galat of Penn - repeats state championship 1:59.06 new school record

2nd Place - Addisynn Bursch of Penn 2:00.99

14th - Annie Spalding 2:09.03

Diving

8th - Samantha Reese of St. Joseph 383.95 points

14th - Danielle Forbes of Penn  350.75

100 Freestyle

5th - Addisynn Bursch of Penn :51.25

500 Freestyle 

14th - Emily Meckstroth of Penn  5:06.03

200 Free Relay

2nd Place - Penn  1:35.38

Penn's coach, Jess Preston was honored as the Indiana HIgh School Swimming Coaches Association's Coach of the Year.
