Penn competed as a team at the State Finals and finished 18th with 413 points. Anna Rohrer (10) of Mishawaka, defeated the defending state champion Ashley Erba (12) of Warsaw by 16 seconds. Erba's time was 17:29.2 to Rohrer's time of 17:13.2, which set an IHSAA state meet record. Carmel won the girls' team title with 66 team points.
Boys' Race: Mishawaka's boys' team competed in the race and finished 18th with 443 points. The top runner for Mishawaka was Austin Ganger with a 16:30 time good for 70th place overall. Carmel won the boys' race with 93 team points.
