By Greg Humnicky of Northern Indiana Conference

Final Regular Season NIC Football Games - Friday, October 12

Mishawaka at SB Washington* - School Field

Mishawaka can hope for a share of the NIC crown if they win at School Field vs Washington, if Adams can pull off the upset of league leading Penn at Freed Field. That would create a three way tie at 5-1. Mishawaka is coming off a last second FG at home to edge city rival Marian. The Cavemen are 5-3 overall (NIC 4-1) while Washington is winless in the NIC, 0-5 , 1-7 overall as they are coming a 52-20 loss to visiting St. Viator, IL at School Field last Friday night.

FINAL SCORE - Mishawaka 44-30 over SB Washington

Elkhart Central at SB Clay*  - Clay Field

Clay is coming off a thrilling 13-10 overtime win at St. Joseph to go 2-3 in the NIC, 5-3 overall while Central dropped a tough close one to SB Adams at home, 21-17. Central is now 2-3 in the NIC, 4-4 overall.

FINAL SCORE - Elkhart Central 31-21 over SB Clay

SB Adams at Penn*

SB Adams is now 4-1 in the NIC, 5-3 overall as they travel to Penn looking to earn share of the NIC crown. Adams dropped Elkhart Central at Rice Field last week, 21-17 while Penn blanked Riley, 43-0 to stay perfect in the NIC at 5-0, 6-1 overall. A Penn win will secure an outright NIC crown for Penn, their second consecutive, their 31st title in school history since 1978. The last Adams NIC title was in 1985 under Bill Farrell.

FINAL SCORE - Penn 30-13 over SB Adams

SB Riley at St. Joseph*

Riley still seeking its first NIC win travels to St. Joseph while the Indians are looking to rebound from their 13-10 OT loss to Clay last week. Riley is now 1-7 overall as they were shut-out by Penn last week. St. Joseph is 3-2 in the NIC, 4-4 overall.

FINAL SCORE - St. Joseph 38-9 over SB Riley

Marian - BYE

Normal West, IL at Marian

Marian looks to bounce back from the tough 31-28 contest at Mishawaka last week as they take on Normal West out of Iliinois in a non-conference match-up as the Knights finished NIC play at 3-3, and are 5-3 overall.

FINAL SCORE - Marian 49-21 over Normal West, IL
