Elkhart Central at St. Joseph*

Elkhart Central, 3-0 (NIC 1-0) comes to South Bend with an undefeated record to take on the St. Joseph Indians in their home opener at their new field, named after Father Walter Bly, long time St. Joseph freshman football coach and team chaplain. St. Joseph, 2-1 (NIC 1-0) has won two in a row after dropping their opener at Chesterton. Elkhart Central took out SB Washington last week, 51-42 to remain unbeaten. Kick-off is slated for 7:30pm with pre-game dedication activities starting at 6:45pm.

Final Score: St. Joseph 35-0 over Elkhart Central

Marian at SB Clay* - Clay Field

Both Marian, now 1-2 (NIC 0-1) and SB Clay, now 2-1 (NIC 0-1), have stumbled against SB Adams the past two weeks look to get back on track at Clay Field. Marian has dropped two in a row after winning their opener. Last week Marian was handled by Penn, 55-28 while Clay struggled in the second half against Adams, losing 22-12.

Final Score: Marian 24-7 over SB Clay

SB Adams at SB Washington* - School Field

SB Washington, now 1-2 (NIC 0-1) takes on the undefeated Adams squad at School Field. Washington was on the short end of a high scoring affair at Elkhart Central, 51-42 while Adams took care of Clay, 22-12 to remain unbeaten at 3-0 (NIC 1-0).

Final Score: SB Adams 28-27 over SB Washington

Mishawaka at SB Riley* - Jackson Field

Riley, 1-2, (NIC 0-0)  won their first game of the season last week by edging visiting Hammond Gavit, 21-18 on the final play of the game while Mishawaka has beaten by St. Joseph, 34-20. Mishawaka 1-2, (NIC 0-1) has dropped two in a row after winning their opener at Portage.

Final Score: Mishawaka 42-21 over SB Riley

Penn at FW Snider on Saturday, Sep 8

Penn takes the 3-0 (NIC 1-0) record to Fort Wayne on Saturday night in an out of conference match-up against FW Snider. Penn won their NIC opener last week at Marian, 55-28. FW Snider stands 3-0 so ar this season. These two could meet again in the Semi-State later in the season.

These two are ranked in the top ten in Class 5A, Penn is 3rd, Snider is 7th.
