The Indians are coming off a 35-7 win at Wawasee last Friday to even their record at 1-1. Mishawaka matches the 1-1 record as they fell to Penn last week in a non-league match-up, 21-7. St. Joseph has a 4-3 edge in games played since they joined the conference in 2005. St Joseph won last year's match-up 35-12. FINAL SCORE: St. Joseph 34-20 over Mishawaka
Penn at Marian * Penn, now 2-0, coming off a 21-7 win over city rival Mishawaka last week head back into the city of Mishawaka to take on Marian at Otolski Field. Marian dropped a 30-20 non-league match-up to Adams last week to drop to 1-1 on the season. Marian's last victory vs Penn came in the 1973 when both schools were members of the old NIVC. FINAL SCORE: Penn 55-28 over Marian
SB Washington at Elkhart Central * Elkahrt Central at 2-0 so far this young season takes on SB Washington at home at Rice Field. Central beat Goshen 27-10 while Washington earned their first win in a 33-7 win over visiting Michigan City. Washington has won the last three in the series as Central's last win came in 2008, although Central won by forfeit in 2010. FINAL SCORE: Elkhart Central 51-42 over SB Washington
SB Clay at SB Adams * (School Field) Both squads are 2-0 so far as Adams knocked off Marian last week, 30-20 in non-league contest at Clay Field while Clay handled LaPorte on the road, 42-21. The winner can take a step toward the unofficial city championship and stay on top of the NIC standings. Clay has won the last 14 games in this city rivalry with the last Adams win coming in 1998. FINAL SCORE: SB Adams 22-12 over SB Clay
SB Riley - NIC BYE Hammond Gavit at SB Riley (Jackson Field) Riley looks to earn their first win of the year as they host visiting Hammond Gavit. The Wildcats dropped a tough 12-6 overtime game to Clay in their opener, but then lost to FW Wayne last Friday at Jackson Field, 28-7. Riley has won the last five games in this non-conference match-up. FINAL SCORE: SB Riley 21-18 over Hammond Gavit
