NC Girls' Soccer Update
September 9, 2013By Rob Hendrix of Indianapolis North Central High School
North Central High School Women's Soccer held its traditional invitational Soccer Kicks for Cancer on September 6 and 7. All proceeds from the invitational go to the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma cancers.
There were nine teams represented: North Central, Pike, Noblesville,Brownsburg, Greenfield Central, Park Tudor, Fort Wayne Snider, Ft Wayne Canterbury, Fort Wayne Homestead. The teams played great soccer. Sportsmanship was noted across the board. The great performance and behavior of these teams speak volume about their coaches, parents and communities. The results are as follow:
North Central 6 Brownsburg 0
FW Canterbury 0 Park Tudor 0
Greenfield Central 0 Noblesville 4
Pike 2 FW Homestead 2
Noblesville 2 - FW Canterbury 2
Park Tudor 2 - Ft Wayne Snider 2
Brownsburg 0 Pike 4
FW Homestead 3 - 1
North Central 2 -FW Snider 0
North Central concluded the invitational with a nice win over FW Snider. The week leading to the invitational, North Central lost to Avon 1-4 and tied reigning State champion Evansville Memorial 0-0. The Panthers have started a strong season scoring 28 goals and conceding only 7. The Panthers get strong support from their fans and parents. So far, it is really fun to watch these girls play. Kudos to all participating teams and to parents for a wonderful soccer week-end for the right cause.
