Home » General NewsPanthers Defeat Carmel AgainAugust 31, 2012 By Rob Hendrix of Indianapolis North Central High SchoolThe North Central Men's Tennis team stayed undefeated at 5 and 0 with a 3-2 win over Carmel in a dual meet Thursday afternoon at the NC tennis courts. In #1 Singles Riley Reist defeated Sameer Kumar of Carmel 6-2, 4-6, 1-0, as Kumar retired with leg cramps in the 3rd set. In #2 Singles Andrew Stutz was a winner over Chris Quammen 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. At #3 Singles NC's Rudolph Frazier defeated Michael Makeio 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. NC lost both doubles matches with the #1Doubles team of Ari Gerstein and JJ Kroot losing to Carmel's Charlie Emhardt and Dan Rodefeld 7-5, 2-6, 4-6 while the #2Doubles team of Patrick McAuley and William Refeis losing 4-6, 6-4, 5-7. The victory was the 2nd over Carmel within a week as the Panthers hoisted the trophy after defeating 2nd place Carmel in the John Shirley Invitational last weekend.
