Trojan soccer boys blank Jay County

New Castle's boys soccer team had a big first half Tuesday and rolled to an 8-0 victory over Jay County on the road.

The Trojans had six goals in the first half, three of which were scored by Brad Broyles. Tanner Dye, Ryan Jones and Pearson Burris had the other successful kicks.

Jake Underwood had two assists, while Nathan Cain and Bryant Martin each had one.

New Castle added two goals in the second half, with Tim Welch and Zach Millikan making the kicks.

The Trojans went to 4-1 and play Huntington at home on Saturday.

New Castle won the junior varsity game by a score of 4-1. Damien Upchurch had two goals, and Devon Hernly and Dillon Hamm had one goal each. Tyler Broyles had three assists, and Tyler Rainer had one. Goalkeeper Taylor Matthews had one save.
