Trojan boys outswim Tigers

New Castle's boys swim team cruised Tuesday night with a 124-54 victory over Hagerstown.

The Trojans were first in all events but one. That was the 200-yard freestyle, won by Hagerstown's Max Reagan. He swam a time of 2:01.7.

William Kelsik, Kyler Durham and Matt DeHart were double winners for New Castle. Kelsik took the butterfly in 59.79 and the individual medley in 2:19.01. Durham won the 50 freestyle in 23.69 and the 500 freestyle in 5:03.82. DeHart won the 100 freestyle in 52.72 and the breaststroke in 1:08.62.

New Castle's Tyler Ratcliff won the backstroke in 1:06.69. Robert Webster was first in diving with a score of 126.85.

In the relay, the Trojans' Kelsik, DeHart, Blake Rains and Ratcliffe took the 200 medley relay in 1:53.75. Ratcliffe, Nik Davis, DeHart and Durham won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:40.66. Kenton Durham, Davis, Kyler Durham and Kelsik won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:39.52.

The Trojan boys finish their regular season on Feb. 8 at Muncie South. The girls swim team is in the sectional tournament this Saturday at New Palestine.
