Sport Performance Program

December 10, 2012
By coach Silva of Next Level Athletics Sports

This program is a year round option for athletes of All Sports!

Every athlete needs to develop certain areas to make themselves successful. Without one of these areas the athlete could be vulnerable and never reach their full potential.

The first areas that an athlete needs is a proper and correct warm-up: The reason for this is to get the body ready for competition, and to help prevent against injuries.

Too many athletes just jump right into a workout with out getting the mind and body prepared for what it needs to do to be successful.

Even with strength training, going through a good and sound warm-up routinue will help prevent against soreness and strain that may occur when working out. Doing Dynamic or movement stretches will help prevent many problems that may occur.

Second area would be the development of Speed. The saying goes Size hurts but Speed Kills. This is true when discussing this with an athlete on how you can become a more dominate player. You need to develop a sound program of running mechanics and speed drills to improve your performance.

Third area is strength training. Having a good solid strength program that focuses on developing muscles to aid in your performance is key. Just lifting to lift should not be the goal of an athlete.

You need to develop a strength program that will take and enhance your performance on the field. Finding a quality trainer who understands how the body is suppose to move and work for each sport is the key. Just moving a lot of weight does not quarantee success.

Fourth is a good fundamental core program. Most people dont know exactly what the core is. I hear it all the time I got to work my core. When you ask them what that means they usually just think the ABS. That is only a small part of the core region.

The core region is made up of not only the Abs, but the obliques, the hips, low back, and especially the glutes. The glutes are so important to helping an athelte excel but they are usually very week in most individuals. Having a program that address these areas is a must for each athlete to perform at their best.

Fifth area would be power and explosion. Each sport requires you to generate power while performing . If you watch a sporting event you can see power/explosion in every play.

For example baseball requires power from the pitcher to throw the ball and the batter to hit it. In basketball when a player drives to the basket that requires power or to dunk that is power.

You need to develop this area to make yourself a well rounded athlete.

Sixth area is you should always cool the body down. Do not just pack up and leave. Make sure you get your body ready for the next day or next workout by returing it to a relaxed state.

Make sure you stretch out with static or hold each position for a certain amount of time.

Do not fall into the trap of getting big. Obtaining more muscle is great, but it must be done the correct way with a sound program that focuses and covers all of these areas.

If you are not receiving this from your current program then do something about it.

NOT ALL PROGRAMS ARE CREATED EQUAL.

Unleash Your Potential to become a dominate force.

GREATNESS:

It's just something we made up. Somehow we've come to believe that GREATNESS is a gift reserved for a chosen few, for prodigy's, for superstars and the rest of us can only standby watching.

YOU CAN FORGET THAT.

GREATNESS is not some rare DNA strand, it's not some precious thing. Greatness is no more unique to us than breathing.

We're all capable of it, ALL OF US

We have had several requests to provide training for volleyball, basketball, track n field and softball in the months of August, September and October.

This is also a great in-season training option for football athletes.

This training will take place at our Performance Complex located at Gracie Barra Katy 21734 Provincial Blvd Ste. 240 for all male and female athletes.

Train weekly with us on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Year Round  Performance Training for All Sports, only at NLA!

Suspension trainers allow you to perform natural movements and exercises to build strength, lose weight and tone up. It's a scalable form of exercise that's suitable for people of all abilities and can be used to develop elite fitness.

The benefits of suspension training:

Suspension training is good for the following: Can train the entire body and build total body strength Excellent core conditioning and abdominal workout Hundreds of possible exercises Easily adjustable for all fitness levels Easy to setup and portable, great for travelling Builds functional strength NLA athletes are some the best in the area.

These sessions are led by master trainer Coach Rey of NLA and his NFl coaches. During these sessions the athletes learn to run with proper form, increase their stride length and stride frequency, develop a greater threshold for active fatigue recovery, build power through our resisted dynamic training and improve aerobic/anaerobic conditioning.

Benefits of push sled training include variety in speed training, aerobic capacity, hypertrophy, pre-condition against injury and develop functional muscle.

Push sled training should be used to develop acceleration, take off from a stand still is increased. Proper protocol with a push sled can and will make an athlete faster.

New this year during our Performance Program we will offer power sprinter, power sleds, plyo boxes, battle ropes, pro suspension straps, vibration plate, woodway high performance  and strength training at for all athletes.
The strength program is designed to provide each athlete with more power to move faster. Stronger athltetes run fast and fast athletes run fast.

If you want to dominate in sports, you need to be quick and explosive in every direction. Tractor tire flipping with make you more explosive, more powerful and give you that take off quickness you need!

Plyometric exercises are the best way to build explosive speed. The force your body to produce power at the speedy pace you're expected to play at in competition.

Also plyo's improve your footwork, so you will be more balanced and in position at the right time.

The athletes who have participated in our Strength Program increased their max lifts at their respectives programs by 30 to 50% in just a 30 day period and also reduce the amount of injuries they play with.

You may visit of NEW Sports Complex located at 21724 Provincial Bvlv, Ste. 240, contact coach Rey at 832-272-0827 for more info or to schedule a tour..

These sessions are not specific to football athletes, we recommend that all athletes from every sport train to improve on all the before mentioned areas either during their sports season or before the Next season begins. Athletes who participate in this training come from volleyball, softball, basketball, track/field, tennis etc.

These sessions are based on the professional and collegiate winter training programs across the country in athletics and have produced in KISD high school All Americans, State Champions, All District, All State Athletes as well as Track and Field Champions!

Battle rope training forces an athlete to train using velocity and momentum principles. When this occurs the athlete is physically and mentally engaged at all times which force the user to train or compete at a higher rate of intensity. This higher rate of intensity will transfer into any sport of competition.

In fact, the battle rope training does not only train the athlete to train or compete at a higher rate of intensity, they will be able to sustain this intensity for much longer durations of time which gives the user a huge advantage physically and mentally.

You may reserve your spot now to train alongside some of the most talented athletes in the area. NLA is a proven and popular choice for as many as 300 families annually, shouldn't you to join the revolution?

These sessions are only $100.00 per month and you may pay now for your spot.

As always we recommend that each athlete participate in all Off-Season Programs that NLA offers to tie together all areas of performance.
