EXSpeed™ High Speed Treadmill Training ProgramsHigh speed treadmill training has seen a steady increase in popularity over recent years as a means of sports performance enhancement for speed and power sports. The concept dates back to the mid 1980’s. The concept was derived out of Soviet Olympic sprint training and their concept of overspeed tow training.
Traditionally, these programs have been designed around intense 6 week programs narrowly focused on speed development by means of the technology. This leads to questions about the transfer from one running surface to another, injury rate concerns, and leaves us wondering about integrating these short, intense cycles into the larger strength and conditioning program.
