Cainsville prevails in 3rd place HDC game
September 20, 2011By Linda Hague of Newtown Harris High School
On Monday evening, the HDC conference 3rd place boys game was underway at Princeton. Being two very evenly matched teams, the game was a real nailbiter. The game was very close in the beginning and the Newtown boys got the bats going and established a 10 run lead. The bats were going great and a few of the boys hit one out of the park. The Tigers could not stop Cainsville when they had the bats in their hands. A few key errors led to easy runs, and with the game on the line, there was definitely some adrenaline going. After the game Coe said "We were there guys, but in a shootout that can happen, we have to maintain our opponent." The boys play North-Harrison in Newtown on Tuesday night following the girls game.
