Senior Japheth Busick will continue the N-H track tradition and hope to add to his own all-state credentials this weekend at the MSHSAA Class 1 State Track Meet in Jefferson City.

Busick qualified for the state meet by finishing in the top four of two events at the sectional meet held Saturday in Richmond.

He finished third in the 100m dash with a time of 11.6 seconds and fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 55.1 seconds.

He will run prelims in those events on Friday -- the 100m dash at 1:20pm and the 400m dash at 3:35pm.

Busick is a two-time all-state performer, earning recognition in the 4x200m relay in 2009 and the 200m dash in 2010.

Busick's advancement to the state track meet marks the 12th straight year that the N-H boys' track team has had at least one athlete qualify for state.

Fellow seniors Kameron Cool and Caleb Brown saw their outstanding track careers come to an end Saturday.  Other competing for the Tigers Saturday but failing to advance included Busick in the 200m dash; Cool in the high jump and 3200m run; and the 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams.
