Home » FFA NewsTucker named area starFebruary 22, 2011 Newtown Harris High SchoolTwo members of the N-H FFA Chapter have been honored outside of the local chapter for their achievements. Senior Trevor Tucker was named Area 3 Star in Agricultural Placement. As part of his SAE (supervised agricultural experience), Tucker works for Rockin R Farms in Lucerne. He assists in the cattle and row crop operation as well as serving as mechanic. Based on his SAE, he was selected by Area 3 agriculture teachers as the Area Star in Agricultural Placement. He will be recognized during the Friday afternoon session of the State FFA Convention, April 15 in Columbia, MO. Fellow senior Amanda Hague was selected as the Area 3 winner in the Agricultural Education Proficiency area. Hague serves as a cadet teacher in the agriculture classroom each day for the Exploring Agriculture class. She assists students as needed as well as copies and grades papers and sets up for activities. Amanda also has written articles for the school newspaper about FFA activities and wrote a special editorial informing the public about the truth of Proposition B. She will be recognized during the Thursday evening session of the State FFA Convention, April 14 in Columbia, MO.
