The Newton Rams Varsity scored five runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Auliver Astin , , a two-run error, and a steal of home by Tristan McInerny.
Mj Boykin racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Newton Rams Varsity.
Grant Burroughs handled Stockbridge's lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Burroughs allowed no earned runs, six hits and two walks over six innings.
The Newton Rams Varsity stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring three runs on two singles.
