The Rams boys varsity basketball team, fresh off a 58-55 win at Jenkins in Savannah, sit at 8-2 as they head to Alabama for one of the best holiday tournaments in the state. At Wallace State College, one of the nicest junior college arenas in the U.S., the Rams will play in the Yule Tide Holiday Classic in Hanceville, Alabama.  With 4 ranked Alabama teams and one ranked Tennessee teams in the 8 team tournament, Newton will find out where it stands in comparison.  The Rams open up with the #2 team in Alabama in AAAA in Dallas County who has two players 6'8 and 6'9.  The winner of that game faces a possible match-up with the host school Cullman HS, ranked #8 in AAAAA in Alabama.  Winners of 3 straight, Newton at 8-2 (1-1) looks to keep its momentum against tough competition before getting into Region 2-AAAAAA at home on January 4th against Luella 6-2 (2-0).
