Jim Host Interns Begin 2012-13 Internship at NACDA National Office

CLEVELAND - The 2012-13 Jim Host Intern class of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) began its year-long internship on July 9. In November 2009, the NACDA Internship Program became known at the Jim Host Internship Program presented by iHigh.com.

The 2012-13 class includes Nick Batista, a University of Montana graduate; Kevin Collins, a graduate of the University of Delaware; Jessi McCloy, a graduate of Cleveland State University; andRamy Mosbah, a Central College and University of Missouri graduate. 

Batista joins NACDA from the University of Montana, where he recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Batista was a senior marketing intern and director of the student fan club for the Grizzlies, where he coordinated promotional events for the football and basketball teams. He also handled the behind the scenes operations for home soccer and basketball games, and directed half-time and time-out events for various teams. Batista managed the two-time Capital One "Mascot of the Year" appearances for Monte, as well as his game day schedule for football and basketball games.

In addition to his work in the marketing department, Batista served as a budget analyst for the Montana athletics department, managing the budget of all sports. He has also spent time with the American Legion Baseball and the Helena Brewers Baseball organizations.

Batista is a student member of NACMA and will work with NACMA, FCS ADA, CABMA, Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year Award and the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the National Football Foundation while at NACDA. After his internship, Batista plans to pursue a career in collegiate athletics and someday become a senior level administrator. He can be reached atnbatista@nacda.com.

Collins, a native of Merrick, New York, joins NACDA from the University of Delaware (UD), where he recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management.

While at UD, Collins served as a ticket office intern for six months, where he was the game day box office manager for all Men's and Women's lacrosse games, and served as a ticket kiosk representative for all Men and Women's basketball games. He worked closely with the director of ticket operations in implementing a new season ticket strategy for men and women's basketball, and was one of the main contacts for football season ticket renewals.

In addition to his work with the ticket office, Collins was a student volunteer in the UD Athletics Development department. His duties included researching and verifying contact information of potential donors for cultivation and solicitation purposes. He also participated in athletic alumni reunion events and provided customer relations to donors with phone calls and face to face meetings at events. He also helped to run the student-athlete thank-a-thon, where student athletes contacted donors thanking them for their contributions.

Collins also spent time as a sales intern with the Ripken Baseball/Aberdeen Ironbirds, was sports director at the student radio station at Delaware for three years and served as co-chairperson for the 2012 Senior Class Gift program at Delaware.

While at NACDA, Collins will work with NAADD, NAAC, NATYCAA and CoSIDA. After his internship, he plans to pursue a career in intercollegiate athletics. Collins can be reached at kcollins@nacda.com.

McCloy comes to NACDA from Cleveland State University (CSU) where she completed her master's degree in sports management in 2012, where she served as the graduate assistant for student life/student activities as well as in graduate admissions. McCloy also served as a marketing intern for the Vikings, where she led game day set up, organized promotional activities for sponsor fulfillment and organized half-time shows for men's and women's basketball.

A Cincinnati native, McCloy completed her undergraduate degree at Cleveland State as well, where she was a four year letter winner and two-year team captain for the women's soccer team. McCloy was active in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), where she was not only an advisor, but also served as President for CSU, but the Horizon League as well. 
She was a recipient of the 12th annual John McLendon Award, and served as a member on the athletics director search committee in 2010-11. 

While at NACDA, McCloy will be working with CEFMA, D-I AAA ADA, the John McLendon Minority Foundation, ICLA and the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup. After her internship, she plans to pursue a career in collegiate athletics. McCloy can be reached at jmccloy@nacda.com.

A recent graduate of the University of Missouri graduate program in health education and promotion, with a focus in sports psychology, Ramy Mosbah brings a wide variety of athletics experience to NACDA, ranging from the Division I to Division III ranks.

While attending Missouri, Mosbah was an intern and graduate assistant for athletics performance, where he designed and implemented training programs for men's golf and women's tennis, while assisting with football. Throughout his three year period with the university, he collaborated with coaches and sports medicine professionals to insure a quality training experience for the student-athletes. Mosbah was also an athletics practicum intern for the university, working closely with the athletics administration office, student-athlete development and the Tiger Scholarship Fund department. He was also active in the SAAC, serving as a liaison for the Athletics Performance department. Mosbah has maintained his membership with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. 

Prior to his time at Missouri, Mosbah played football for Central College while earning his bachelor's degree in exercise science with a focus in strength and conditioning. While at Central, Mosbah was four year intern with the Strength and Conditioning department and also served as a member for the football team's Leadership Council. 

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native will be working with DII-ADA, MOAA, N4A, and NACDA sponsorship activation. Following his internship, Mosbah plans to continue working in intercollegiate athletics, pursing a position that works directly with the student-athletes in a student support services department.
