New Palestine pounced for seven second-inning runs in an 11-4 victory over Warren Central Monday afternoon.

NP strung together seven consecutive hits to start the second inning, and had eight total hits in the second, taking a 7-1 lead. Evan Vance and Connor Swain each had two-run singles in the second, and Nick Butcher added a run-scoring hit.

NP added another run in the fourth when Butcher reached on an error, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on Cameron Clark's squeeze bunt. In the fifth, the Dragons added three more runs, with Jason Hall-Manley hitting a leadoff double, Evan Vance following with a single and Wes McBride driving both in with a double. He would later score on an RBI grounder by Cameron Clark.

Connor Swain allowed eight hits and two earned runs in six-plus innings to get the pitching victory.

At the plate, Vance was 3-3 with two runs, two stolen bases and two RBI. McBride was 2-3 with two runs. Butcher was 1-2 with an RBI, two runs and was hit by pitches twice. Cameron Clark had two RBI, as did Swain. Evan Hickman was 2-3 with a double, helping pace a 13-hit attack.

The Dragons (11-6) next play Wednesday at home against Cathedral, before hitting the road -- traveling to Batesville for a Thursday game and to Martinsville on Friday.
