BA: Dragons use 11-run inning to beat TC

The New Palestine Dragons pounded out 11 runs in the third inning to propel themselves to a 17-3 win over Triton Central Thursday in the Dragons' home opener.
In the third inning, the Dragons sent 16 batters to the plate and pounded eight hits. Connor Swain and Evan Vance had two-run singles in the inning to break it open.
NP also scored twice in the first and four times in the fourth to end the game in five innings. The Dragons had 13 hits on the day.
They were led at the plate by leadoff batter Nick Butcher, who was 3-3 with three runs scored, and Steven Clark, who was 3-3 with a run and an RBI.
Vance and Logan Gilvin each drove in two runs. Cameron Clark, Jason Hall-Manley and Justin Anderson also had RBI hits. Dalton Fee also had a hit. All 13 of the Dragons' hits were singles.
Hogan Fulkerson got his first varsity pitching win, allowing two earned runs, five hits and striking out three in four innings of work. Cody Chandler pitched a scoreless fifth to end the game.
The Dragons (2-1, 1-1 HHC) host Greenfield-Central in a DH at 5:30 p.m. today. HancockCountySports.com will broadcast the games.
