BBB: Dragons fall to Perry

The New Palestine basketball team dropped a 49-42 decision to Perry Meridian Saturday night at home.
The Dragons built a 14-10 lead after a quarter, and it stayed close throughout -- tied at 20-20 at halftime. NP led 32-31 going into the final quarter, but was outscored 18-10 in the closing eight minutes.
Ryan Curry had his second straight 20-point night, tallying 25 points on 10-of-21 shooting. He hit five 3-pointers in the contest. Samson Haynes scored a career-high 14 points on 6-of-8 from the floor. The only other Dragon to score was Connor Roach, who hit one field goal and was 1-2 from the line.
Haynes also had five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Curry had six boards and three steals. Roach had a team-high seven boards and three steals. Brandon Jonas had two steals.
The Dragons held Perry to 37 percent shooting, while the Dragons hit 42 percent (17-40), but Perry outscored the Dragons from the line, as the Falcons hit 12-16 and the Dragons 3-4. The Dragons outrebounded the Falcons 24-20.
Curtis Green had 18 points and Anthony Hardy 16 points and five assists for the Falcons.
The Dragons (6-6) host a double-weekend next weekend, facing Shelbyville on Friday and Mooresville on Saturday, both at home.
