SW: Dragons compete at HHC meet

The New Palestine swim teams competed at the HHC meet Saturday, with the boys finishing sixth and the girls finishing seventh.

The top finisher was the girls 200 medley relay of Grace Hornsby, Erin Trimpe, Addison Virt and Rachel Wineman, who was second to Yorktown with a time of 2:03.90.

Erin Trimpe had the top individual finish, placing third in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.93).

Addison Virt had two top-8 finishes, placing fifth in both the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. Kenzie Wells was fifth in the 100 freestyle. Shannon Jones was fifth in diving.

Other individual top-eight finishes went to Claire Hornsby (6th, 100 free) and Rachel Wineman (8th, 50 free).

In the boys meet, Todd Horn was fifth in the 50 freestyle (24.16) and was the team's top finisher.

Grant Gish had two top-eight finishes, placing sixth in the 100 freestyle and eighth in the 200 freestyle. Chris Dodd was seventh in the 100 breaststroke. Conner Page placed seventh in diving. The 200 free relay of Gish, Dodd, Horn and Jake Mitchell placed fourth.

The Dragon swim teams are back in the pool Thursday in a three-way meet against Rushville and Scecina.
