WR: Dragons 2nd in HHC

The ninth-ranked Dragons were second in the HHC meet to No. 6 Yorktown, with five individual champions.
Yorktown tallied 277 points, New Palestine 233. Greenfield-Central was third. The Dragons tied Yorktown with five individual champions each. NP had 10 wrestlers in the finals, the most of any team at the meet.
At 106, Alec White won the title with a fall in the final round. Eugene Starks, ranked 13th at 113, also won his championship match by a 6-3 decision over Pendleton Heights' Tyler Flood, who came into the match 18-1. At 120, Chad Red stayed undefeated this season with three pins, including a 55-second fall in the final. Brian Wagner (195) and Noah Grable (220) beat rivals from Yorktown in the final to win championships. Wagner won a 5-0 decision in the final after two falls. Grable won two close decisions.
Runners-up for the Dragons were Rylan McCarty (126), Jared Timberman (132), Jaylyn Wallace (138), Nick Brickens (160) and Andrew Yazel (285).
Also placing were David Johnson (5th, 145) and Logan Hunt (5th, 152).
The Dragons close the regular season Wednesday at home against Franklin.
