A slow start slowed the New Palestine Dragons in Pendleton, as they fell to the host Pendleton Heights Arabians 55-43 Friday.
NP fell behind 12-2 after a quarter, and while it cut the deficit into single digits, the Arabians were able to hold on from there.
Freshman Raegan McMurray had 11 points to lead the Dragons, one short of her season high. She also had five rebounds and an assist.
Sophomore Haley Stratman added nien points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Carly Hackler had five points, four rebounds, a steal, two assists and two blocked shots. Emma Laughlin ahd five of the Dragons' 13 steals. Katlyn Keele had eight points on 4-7 shooting.
The Dragons are now 4-7 on the season. They return home Thursday, Jan. 9 to host Perry Meridian. The game was moved forward 48 hours due to inclement weather. They will host Guerin Catholic on Jan. 11. Both games will be 6 p.m. JV tipoffs.
