New Palestine advanced 12 of its 14 wrestlers to regional, with four winning sectional titles.

C.J. Red won a matchup of undefeated wrestlers in the 106 pound final, beating Warren Central's Matthew McKinney by a 12-2 major decision. Red is now 37-0 on the year and ranked No. 1 in the state by IndianaMat.com. At 113, NP's Rylan McCarty (32-5) defeated WC's Joel McGhee 5-2 in the final. Gordon Wagner (35-4) won the 138-pound title by beating Franklin Central's Kevin Groves 6-1 in the final, while Robbie Elsea (34-3) gave NP its fourth sectional champ at 145 pounds. He beat Beech Grove's Trevon Sevion 6-2 in the title match.

Also advancing for NP were Taylor Fee (29-8, second at 126), Nick Brickens (13-8, second at 160), Brian Wagner (33-3, second at 182), Gabe Estes (6-2, second at 220), Ian Pomfret (19-18, third at 170), Jared Timberman (28-12, fourth at 132), Logan Hunt (27-12, fourth at 152) and Willie Bryan (29-9, fourth at 285).

New Palestine 70, Yorktown 55: The Dragons got a big start from Michael Morris and a big finish from Ryan Curry Friday to stay perfect in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.

NP improved to 11-4 overall and 5-0 in HHC play with the victory, while Yorktown fell to 12-3 and 3-2 in conference action.

Morris scored 29 points on the night, while Curry added 22. Each had 11 in a bookend quarter -- Morris in the first, Curry in the fourth.

NP only trailed once -- at 3-0 -- but Morris scored 11 first-quarter points and then scored the first five of the second quarter to push NP to an early double-digit lead. The Dragons led 21-17 after eight minutes when Curry hit a 30-foot 3-pointer at the first-quarter buzzer. NP scored the first seven points of the second quarter to take a double-digit lead.

Led by sophomore Caleb Morey, who scored 12 of his 16 points in the opening half, the Tigers clawed back to 40-34 at halftime, but NP again opened the third with an 11-3 spurt that made it a 51-37 contest.

In the fourth, Yorktown cut NP's lead to 51-45, but the Dragons got a basket by Morris and a midcourt steal and layup by Curry to push the lead back to 10. Curry later hit back-to-back 3-pointers in what became a 19-4 run that put the game away.

Morris hit 11-of-18 from the floor -- including 5-of-8 from deep -- and added six rebounds. Curry was 8-of-13 from the floor, including 5-of-10 from the 3-point arc. Solomon Haynes had seven assists, Samson Haynes had five as the Dragons had 14 assists on their 25 baskets. NP also had 16 offensive boards and outrebounded Yorktown 32-18. Brandon Jonas had nine points and nine rebounds, just missing a double-double. In addition to Morris' six, Seth Cox had five boards.

Bibbs led Yorktown with 17 points, while Morey had 16. Yorktown shot 41 percent (20-of-48), while NP hit 49 percent (25-of-51).

The Dragons next play Friday at Shelbyville in a Hoosier Heritage Conference contest, then heads to Mooresville on Saturday. Links to webcasts of both games will be at http://www.ihigh.com/newpaldragons
