By Andrew Smith of New Palestine High SchoolThe Dragons will take on Yorktown Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in the home opener. Here are some events surrounding the game.
- Friday's New Palestine vs. Yorktown football game at Kelso Stadium is Blue Ribbon Night. New Palestine and Yorktown will be celebrating our shared status as National Blue Ribbon Schools. NPHS and Yorktown are the only two Indiana high schools to receive this prestigious national honor this year. Fans are encouraged to wear blue to celebrate this tremendous achievement!
- There will be a pre game tailgate catered by Marsh to support the New Palestine Band Boosters. Steak sandwiches will be available for purchase. It's sponsored by Marsh, Andy Mohr auto dealerships and Reid Hospital.
- Gates will open at 6 for a 7:30 kickoff.
- WTHR's Operation Football will do live reports from the game on its 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts featuring student tailgating, the NPHS Marching Dragons and cheerleaders. Students and fans are encouraged to come early and enjoy the tailgate.
