NPHS Wins All-Music Award 2nd Year In Row
September 13, 2012
By Lynnette Bell of New Palestine High SchoolBand Director, Shawn Humphries has to feel on top of the world with his band students and their performances. Winning the All-Music
Award is a great honor for any high school music program and New Palestine has ownership for the second year in a row. The band must have superior ratings in the Indiana State School Music Association contests as well as marching band, solo and ensemble contests and jazz band.
Thirty-six schools won the award in specific music areas...But only four schools holds the distinction for all of their departments. This includes the choir and orchestra, also.
To have a band department of this caliber puts New Palestine in an elite group, with bands all over the state of Indiana.
Congratulations New Palestine High School Music Program.
Students work long and hard to accomplish such an honor. New Palestine area residents are proud of you.
